For the attention of WNA Members and other local residents.

My name is Trish Fallon and I am an Archivist at Westminster City Archives. We are planning a series of free open day events in the coming months,  exploring the history of different areas of the City: Paddington, St Marylebone, Central Westminster and South Westminster.

Each event will offer visitors tours of the Archives Centre, multimedia presentations (film shows, IT demonstrations and project talks) and a local history lecture, as well as an opportunity to meet local history experts, the Archives staff, and amenity society members.

The marketing of the events will be mainly targeted at amenity society members in the respective areas, but anyone interested in the history of Westminster will be welcome to attend. We will also shortly be issuing invitations to ward councillors, publicising the events on our website and distributing posters around the library network.

We have provisionally scheduled the Paddington open day for Sat 9 Oct. We spoke to Elizabeth Virgo who mentioned you may be in a position to inform your contacts of this date? I am also attaching a poster for the event  which will give you more information. We are asking people to book places by calling us here at the archives over the coming weeks.
